Notes before using

Guide for Reserved Seat System and Reserved Time System on Highway Bus


For Reserved Seat System
For internet bookings, the seat number will be informed after the ticket is being purchased. Please be informed that we cannot accept particular seat reservation.
For Reserved Time System
It is a free-seated system so seat reservation is not acceptable.
Please purchase the ticket soon after making reservation. We may not accept rides on reservations. For your information, internet booking period starts 1 month earlier to 0:00 on the day prior to departure.
Please purchase the ticket 30 minutes before departure. Please note that seats belong to those who have boarding tickets but did not show up on departure time may be given to others.
Boarding tickets for overnight bus departing from Fukuoka to Honshu must be purchased 4 days prior to departure. (Please note that reservations for tickets not purchased 4 days before departure will be automatically cancelled. In addition, if roundtrip ticket reservation is made via internet and the return ticket is not purchased 4 days before departure, the whole roundtrip ticket might be automatically cancelled.)
For Non-stop/local route of Fukuoka-Nagasaki, Sasebo, Oita, tickets must be purchased 15 minutes before departure. (Otherwise, the reservation will be cancelled).
Whether it is an on-the-phone or internet booking, please contact us if there are any changes or cancellations to be made.
Refunds are subject to separately fixed handling charges. However, unused boarding tickets for departed buses are deemed invalid for refunds.
Children below 6 years old are free-of-charge. However, if they occupy seats, they are subject to child fare. Child fare is half of the adult fare (rounded to the nearest 10yen)
Smoking is NOT permitted onboard. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.
Delays in arrival might occur depending on traffic conditions (such as accident, congestion, abnormal weather etc.). In such cases, please be informed that no refund will be made even for late arrivals.

First-come-first-served basis. We do not accept bookings.
Please purchase the ticket before boarding the bus. If you could not purchase before hand, please pay as you board by inserting your fare into the fare slot.
You cannot board if the bus is fully seated. Due to passenger capacity and usage of highway routes rulings, we do not accept standing ride. If the normal seats are full, we will make use of subsidiary seats. In this case, however, the fare remains the same.
The bus operator will not be responsible for any losses incurred due to delays etc.

Guide for Transfer Discount Fare


Validity period is 2 days.
Transfer point at Kumamoto is Kumamoto Bus Terminal.
Transfer point at Tenjin is Tenjin Bus Center.
2 tickets will be issued upon purchasing boarding tickets under Transfer Discount Ticket.
Upon using one of the tickets, the other one is deemed invalid for refund.
In addition, for “No Show” cases, refund requests without obtaining “Proof of No Ride” (from the bus companies or depots) will not be entertained.

What is the operating hours for on-the-phone reservation?
Kyushu Highway Bus Reservation Center operates from 8:00-19:00. Please note that the operating hours of other reservation centers may vary.
I would like to make a highway bus reservation, but I cannot speak Japanese. What should I do?
If you call us at Kyushu Highway Bus Reservation Center to make reservation, we will connect you to an English speaking interpreter to assist you via 3-way conversation.

Boarding ticket

Do I have to purchase the ticket after making reservation?
Yes. If the ticket is not purchased by the due date, the reservation may be automatically cancelled. Therefore, please get the ticket issued within the purchase period.

Where does Kyushu Highway bus operate to?
If you click on the city name on the top page map, you can see the list of destinations served from that particular city. Apart from direct and convenient routes, various main cities in Kyushu are also extensively connected by highway buses. To see the substantial network of Kyushu highway bus, please click here.
Where can I board the bus?
Click on the bus stop on the route map to check the pick-up points. There are also bus stops that do not have such indications. In this case, please call each reservation center (in Japanese) for more information.

What is the supporting browser environment?
The website is supported by Internet Explorer 5.5 and above browser environment only.
Are pets allowed on the highway bus?
No pets are allowed either in the trunk or onboard even if they are kept in carriages. (However, exception is given to service dogs for blind people.)
